Lifetime Movie 'The Perfect Daughter' Premieres Tonight, Stars Brady Smith, Sadie Calvano, and Reiley McClendon

Finding his daughter Natalie (Calvano) confused and drunk one night, Martin (Smith) overreacts and puts a wedge between their once idyllic relationship at a time when she'll need him the most.
The Perfect Daughter was written by Brian McAuley and directed by Brian Herzlinger.
The cast of The Perfect Daughter includes Johann Urb, Meredith Salenger, Blaine Saunders, Lorynn York, and Parker Stevenson.
The movie was previously titled The Carpenter's Daughter.

Rebecca Herbst Opens Up About Her Decision to Remain on 'General Hospital'

Herbst tells Digest about her contract negotiations, "It was the most stressful negotiation I have probably ever been through. I feel totally relieved and I definitely feel like I've made the right decision, so I'm at peace with everything that's happened."
The actress wants her fans to know, "Those diehard, loyal fans that have been with this show as long as I have been or even longer, I really felt their genuine support, not only for Elizabeth, but for me, as well. It just made me feel really good that it wasn't all about, "Oh, Becky, we want you to stay on the show." It was, "You do what's best for your family, and if that means moving on, we'll click on another show to watch you." And that sort of support, you just don't find every day. It made me feel very loved."
She appreciates the interest that came from another soap, "Yeah, definitely. It feels really good to have somebody tell you that they would be thrilled to have you join their team. Everybody wants to be appreciated. Everybody wants to be wanted. And having options like that is a confidence-builder, I'd say! But when I weigh the two, between going out and finding a new job versus staying put with my GH family, being with your family is hard to pass up. And I really do love the people I work with."

Herbst hasn't started taping again at GH"No, I have not. I left [March 8];that was my last day because my contract was up. They had not written me out; there were no scenes that suggested that Elizabeth was going away and not coming back because nobody thought that it would get to this point of me almost leaving. I was with Nikolas one day and I said, "Oh, the hospital's calling, I gotta run." And that was it [laughs]!"

Elizabeth may be off screen for a bit, while she is written back into the story, "I actually have a couple of weeks off. We're dark for one of the weeks, but because this negotiation went right up to the last minute, they did have to stop writing for me for a little bit. I might not even be back [taping] until the second week of April, so Elizabeth is going to disappear for a little bit on your screens. They are going to try to sprinkle me in, but outlines have already been written, so I don't know how much they can actually put me in."

The Fosters - What Makes This Show Work

Some shows are destined for success due to program placement, network hype, or star power. The Fosters, airing on Freeform network, earned its success through powerful storylines, coupled with exemplary performances.
Created by Brad Bredeweg and Peter Paige, The Fosters centers on a family of biological, adoptive, and fostered children (who have recently been adopted as well), parented by a lesbian couple. While this is a creative, new concept for television, some may have felt the idea wasn’t engaging enough to meet the demands of a mainstream audience — especially in a valued, primetime spot.
However, as in all family dramas, both fictional and real, it’s the parents who set the tone and lead the way. In this case, The Fosters hit the jackpot with actors, Teri Polo and Sherri Saum who play wives, and parents, Stef Adams Foster and Lena Adams Foster. These two outstanding performers not only have us believing this very unlikely blended family can succeed, but demonstrate how they can thrive with the proper combination of guidance, discipline, and, above all, love.
In addition, the relationship between spouses, Stef and Lena, is an honest representation of any relationship. They experience hurdles and triumphs as individuals, and as a couple, with varying levels of success. Stef and Lena face life together, despite periodic differences of opinion, challenges, and conflicts that might tear other couples apart.
Instead of being labeled a “gay show”, The Fosters has taken its rightful place as a quality television drama that can be enjoyed by the entire family. The storylines are fresh, thrilling, celebratory, and, at times, heartbreaking, successfully reflecting life with a household of children — all teens. Parents, Stef and Lena, have led their brood through a variety of tragedies and triumphs throughout the shows first four seasons. The momentum, once again, is building as the current season reaches it’s final episode.
I can only hope that this beautiful, well-rounded, show is renewed for a fifth season. The creativity of the writers for The Fosters is evident. It’s hard to imagine what else might be in store for viewers, but my guess is it will keep fans tuned in and DVRs set.
The Fosters has the potential to be a long-running primetime drama. As long as the creative combination of exemplary stories, directing, and acting continue, I will certainly be there to watch Stef and Lena guide the Adams Foster family through each and every twist and turn life throws their way.
